Consultant arborists experienced in dealing with all types of local Council requests regarding protected trees.

Lifestyle consultants are well acquainted with planning rules for vegetation alteration, works within the drip-line, and the removal of generally protected trees - as well as tree protection or zoning regulations for bush sites, riparian margins, general natural areas, heritage trees, scheduled trees, foreshore yard, coastal protection yard, coastal zoning, etc.

Tree protection rules vary from Council to Council. We regularly assess trees and protected vegetation across all Auckland regions - Auckland City, Waitakere City, Manukau City, North Shore City and Rodney District Councils.

In many cases, a consultant arborist is called when a tree assessment is required in response to a letter from Council or Section 92 request. This occurs when protected trees on a subject site, or neighbouring property, have not been considered at the pre-application stage for resource or building consent.

A non-compliance report may be required if conditions of the resource consent are not followed. In these situations, an assessment of effects, plus any proposed mitigation, will be requested by the Council officer or planner.
